Global Design Practice

ASPECT Studios

Client

ASPECT Studios is a global design practice specialising in landscape architecture and urban design. Founded in Australia in 1993, ASPECT brings together landscape architects, designers and urbanists to create projects that enhance the lives of people and natural systems in an enduring way. Today, the practice operates across Australia, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Panorama has partnered with ASPECT since 2024.

Challenge

As ASPECT continued to grow and evolve, there was an opportunity to review its existing insurance and ensure the cover remained aligned with the business’s current value and ownership structure.

However, given ASPECT’s size and complexity, securing the appropriate level of cover isn’t always straightforward. The available options did not always align with the business’s scale or needs, making it difficult to put the right level of protection in place without incurring unnecessary costs.

ASPECT needed a strategy that would:

  • Keep protection aligned with the business’s current value and structure.
  • Support business continuity across projects and operations.
  • Make any future changes to the ownership structure as smooth and straightforward as possible.
  • Ensure the overall strategy remained cost-effective.

Solution

Panorama worked closely with ASPECT’s key members and stakeholders to develop an insurance strategy that truly matched the company’s needs and ambitions. Together, we reviewed the business’s current value and existing protection strategies, making sure that key person and buy/sell coverage provided the right level of protection for today’s market.

Given ASPECT’s size and complexity, the review took place over six months. During this time, Panorama worked closely with insurers and explored every available option, carefully assessing and refining the approach and putting the right measures in place to secure the level of cover ASPECT required. The result was not only stronger and more appropriate protection for the company but also reduced outgoing costs. ASPECT now has cover that better reflects the business today and its future direction, giving the team greater confidence in the strategy moving forward.
